Standing on the small decaying balcony on the top floor of the Hotel Ukrainia I started to wonder if this had been a bad idea. The wind was blowing fiercely and the doors to the balcony slammed shut behind me. A feeling of vertigo rushed though me. I figured since I was there I’d finish taking the photo and worry about being locked out later. Turns out the door just needed a good shove to get it open.
