Stilt fishermen at sunset
add to cart
In a tradition passed down from generations, these fisherman perch on stilts firmly embedded in the seabed. Swept away by the tsunami, it's hard to imagine much of the coastline now no longer exists as I remember it. Fortunately most of the fishermen in Koggala were spared. The tsunami came on a Poya day (full moon holiday) and as a result the fishermen were not in the water and survived.
