Luang Prabang has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. Many usually considered the jewel of this city to be the 500 year old monastery, Wat Xieng Thong. The architecture is a typical example of Luang Prabang style, with graceful low-sweeping roofs of glazed tiles. I came across these gilt images of the Buddha in storage.
